An adduct (from the Latin adductus, "drawn toward") is a product of a direct addition of two or more distinct molecules, resulting in a single reaction product containing all atoms of all components, with formation of two chemical bonds and a net reduction in bond multiplicity in at least one of the reactants. The resultant is considered a distinct molecular species. Examples include the adduct between hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate to give sodium percarbonate, and the addition of sodium bisulfite to an aldehyde to give a sulfonate. |

In den Reaktionen zur Bildung des Adduktes entstehen keine Nebenprodukte wie Wasser oder Alkohol. Unterschieden werden u.a.: * Addukt zwischen Lewis-Säure und Lewis-Base: Kovalent gebundene Moleküle aus einem Elektronendonator (z. B. Et2O) und einem Elektronenakzeptor (z. B. BF3): Et2O + BF3 → Et2O-BF3 * nicht kovalent gebundene Addukte: z. B. Kationen- oder Anionenanlagerungskomplexe in der Elektrospray-Ionisations-Massenspektrometrie. Dabei werden um ein Kation oder Anion (z. B. H+, Na+ oder HCOO-) Liganden (z. B. Lösungsmittelmoleküle, Peptide, Proteine, sonstige Analyte) angeordnet. Die Anzahl der Liganden hängt von der elektrischen Ladung, der Ionengröße, der Ligandenstärke und experimentellen Bedingungen ab. |
