has gloss	eng: The Zionist Movement was produced by various philosophers representing different approaches concerning the objective and path that Zionism should follow. The principal common goal was the aspiration to establish an independent state for the Jewish people. However, the method of action needed was in dispute. There were two main approaches to the modus operandi:

has gloss	heb: התנועה הציונית שנוסדה באופן רשמי בסוף המאה ה-19 איחדה בתוכה תפיסות שונות וזרמים שונים. הזרמים בתנועה הציונית יצגו העדפות שונות הן לגבי יעדי הציונות והן לגבי הדרך שבה יש להגשימם. המכנה המשותף לכולם היה השאיפה להתגשמות התחיה הלאומית של עם ישראל בארץ ישראל. עם זאת, גם בשאלת יעד זה היו רבים (ביניהם הרצל עצמו) שצידדו בפתרון-ביניים טריטוריאליסטי זמני ("מקלט לילה"), כדוגמת תוכנית אוגנדה. גם כינון מדינה עצמאית לעם היהודי לא היה מקובל כמטרה על כמה חוגים ציוניים חשובים עד סמוך להקמת מדינת ישראל. מלבד המכנה המשותף הרחב, היו אופי הפתרון והשיטה בה יושג נתונים במחלוקת.
