The Israel Bar is organized as a corporation, with a Central Committee and a National Assembly, plus five different districts. Membership is mandatory for lawyers licensed in Israel. It was established in 1961. The top positions in the Israel Bar are filled by elections held among all licensed attorneys every four years. From July 2007 to July 2011 the IBA is presided over by Yori Geiron.
