has gloss	eng: \| \|} The Hydra class were two minelayers of the Royal Netherlands Navy, built to serve in the Dutch East Indies and Dutch territorial waters in Europe. The construction of the ships began in 1910 and was completed in 1912. The ships where built by the navy yard (Rijkswerf) in Amsterdam. Both ships where still in service during the Second World War. Only the Medusa escaped to the United Kingdom, however. The Hydra was lost after it was fired on by an anti-tank weapon. It sank in the waters off Zeeland.

has gloss	nld: De Hydraklasse was een Nederlandse scheepsklasse die twee mijnenleggers, de Medusa en de Hydra omvatte. Beide mijnenleggers zijn gebouwd door de Amsterdamse Rijkswerf en waren bedoeld om dienst te doen in zowel de Nederlandse wateren als de wateren van Nederlands-Indië. De bouw van de schepen begon in 1910 en was 25 januari 1912 afgerond toen de Hydra in dienst werd genomen bij de Nederlandse marine. Beide schepen waren, ondanks ze al bijna 30 jaar oud waren, nog in dienst tijdens de Duitse aanval op Nederland in 1940. De Medusa wist uit te wijken naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk waar het functioneerde als accommodatieschip voor de Mijnendienst. De Hydra ging in de meidagen van 1940 verloren in de Zeeuwse wateren nadat het schip vanaf de wal was beschoten met antitankgeschut.
