has glosseng: Errol Clive Friedberg is a biologist and scientific writer currently serving as the Senator Betty and Dr. Andy Andujar Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He studied medicine at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, and subsequently received postdoctoral training in biochemistry and pathology at Case Western Reserve University before joining the faculty at Stanford University. He has edited and authored many scientific books, including DNA Repair and Mutagenesis, Correcting the Blueprint of Life-An Historical Account of the Discovery of DNA Repair Mechanisms , The Writing Life of James D. Watson , From Rags to Riches-The Phenomenal Rise of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and a biography of Sydney Brenner, a Nobel laureate who also has roots in South Africa. He has contributed over 400 papers to the scientific literature, and is Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal DNA Repair.
