The events in the strip take place mainly at the fictional Elmendork Air Force Base in Alaska, which is based on the author’s own real-life experiences at Elmendorf Air Force Base. The strip mainly follows the life of fighter pilot Captain Kenneth “Barbie” Dahl, and several of those with whom he serves. Dahl is a pilot with the fictional 809th Fighter Squadron. The strip currently receives over 40,000 hits daily. |
