has gloss | eng: WGEM-DT3 is the FOX-affiliated television station for the Tri-States area of western Illinois, northeastern Missouri, and extreme southeast Iowa. It is a third digital subchannel of NBC affiliate WGEM-TV that is owned by Quincy Newspapers. Over-the-air, the station broadcasts on UHF channel 54.3 from WGEMs transmitter located east of the city on Cannonball Road near I-172. Known on-air as FOX CGEM, the station is offered on cable as well. This includes Mediacom channel 2 in Keokuk, Iowa and Comcast digital channel 383 in Quincy, Illinois. It is not offered on US Cable systems in Hannibal, Missouri, however. Syndicated programming on the station includes: Scrubs, Family Guy, Friends, and Everybody Loves Raymond. WGEM-DT3s parent station has studios in the Hotel Quincy on Hampshire Street in downtown Quincy. The station was established in 1993 by Continental Cablevision and WGEM to fill a void in a market where there was no local over-the-air FOX affiliate. |
