It follows Dr Paul Hamilton (Rob Brydon), a Welsh astronomer, who leaves a dull academic post and disliked girlfriend for a new job at the Royal Australian Observatory, deep in the Australian outback. The comedy centres around his difficulties adjusting to life in the outback and his eccentric fellow astronomers. The first series was released in the UK and Australia in October 2005 and consisted of six 30-minute episodes. The second series began airing on 3 August 2006 in the UK.

Het verhaal volgt Dr. Paul Hamilton (Rob Brydon), een Brits astronoom, die zijn saaie werk en gehate vriendin verlaat voor een nieuwe baan bij het Royal Australian Observatory, diep in de Australische Outback. De comedy draait om zijn aanpassingsproblemen en zijn excentrieke mede-astronomen. Het eerste seizoen werd in oktober 2005 uitgebracht in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Australië, en bestond uit zes afleveringen van elk een half uur. Het tweede seizoen werd vanaf augustus 2006 uitgezonden in Engeland. In Nederland wordt de serie uitgezonden op Comedy Central.
