has gloss	eng: Sture was the name of two influential families in Sweden from the late 15th century to the early 16th century. One member of one of these families and two members of the other served as Regents of Sweden in the Kalmar Union between 1470 and 1520. The Sture Party were supported by the peasants and burgesses which often resulted in conflict with the church and the nobility in the Privy Council who more often supported the Union.

has gloss	swe: Sture är namnet på medeltida och nyare adelsätter. Flera ätter har kallat sig Sture, några är nära besläktade på mödernet. Två grenar av ätten Natt och Dag använde Sturenamnet. Ätten Sture (egentligen ätterna) har haft stort inflytande över svensk historia och har varit kända sedan medeltid. Detta har gjort att namnet Sture använts flitigt i nyare sammanhang vid till exempel namngivningar, för att anknyta till stadens eller bygdens betydelsefulla historia. I Stockholm har Stureätten fått ge namn åt gatan Sturegatan och torget Stureplan. Andra ställen där Stureätten gör sig påmind är trakterna kring ättens jaktslott, Ekesjö, strax utanför centrala Sävsjö i Småland. Den välkända Stureosten ystades på Sävsjö mejeri, därav namnet.
