has gloss	eng: The Springfield Model 1871 Rolling Block U.S. Army rifle was manufactured in 1871-72 by Springfield Armory, using the design originated by Remington Arms Company, under a royalty agreement. The Model 1871 followed an experimental run of 1,008 Remington Model 1870 rifles for the U.S. Army also in the .50/70 Government caliber. The Model 1871 production was limited to 10,000 rifles in .50 caliber.
