Their Diamond Jubilee year is being celebrated with a varied and entertaining repertoire, including Mendelssohn’s rarely-heard St Paul, a revival of Christopher Steel’s Sinfonia Sacra, a work commissioned by the Sheffield Bach Society in 1984, a special Bach Cantata Concert which reflects the Society’s origins and performances of Messiah, the St John Passion and Mozart’s Solemn Vespers. |
