He took part in William of Normandys conquest of England in 1066 and founded the Abbey of Notre-Dame-dIvry in 1071. DIvry was a sworn brother-in-arms of Robert DOyly and the Domesday Book records that on 1086 DOyly and dIvry held a number of manors either partitioned between the two of them or administered in common. |
