| has gloss | eng: RoSta (RObot STAndards and reference architectures) is a Coordination Action funded under the European Union’s Sixth Framework Programme between 2007 and 2009. It dealt with: * trying to come up with (software) standards for robotics systems and components. * motivating the European robotics community to cooperate more on open-source activities that support the development of large-scale, complex robotic systems. * gaining international recognition as a standardizing community. Some of these goals were too ambitious in the given time frame and with the practical problems of involving a community in a long-term activity, but some of the results (more in particular, on robotics middleware) have the potential to really influence development in the near future. |
