has glosseng: The Martyrs of Cuncolim is a title given by the Catholic Church to five Jesuits killed on Monday, 25 July, 1583 (N.S.), in the village of Cuncolim in the district of Salcete, territory of Goa. They were: Rudolph Acquaviva, Alphonsus Pacheco, Peter Berno, and Anthony Francis, who were priests and Francis Aranha, a lay brother. The events leading to these deaths are seen differently by some historians who talk of the Cuncolim Revolt against Portuguese expansion in India .
