W latach 1898-1927 roku nosił w związku z tym nazwę Plac Parlamentarny. Na placu stoi pomnik upamiętniający wydarzenia powstanie węgierskie z 1956 roku. Turyści znajdą tutaj także historyczną flagę z 1956 roku z wyciętym godłem Węgierskiej Republiki Ludowej. Na północnym skraju stoi natomiast pomnik patrona placu - Lajos Kossutha. W pobliżu placu znajduje się stacja czerwonej linii metra - Kossuth tér. Można dojechać tutaj także autobusami, trolejbusami i tramwajami. |
