has gloss	eng: Jim Gardner, played by Harry J. Lennix, is the fictional White House Chief of Staff on the political television drama Commander in Chief. Gardner is the Chief of Staff of Independent President Mackenzie Allen. He previously served in the same capacity under Allen's predecessor, Republican Teddy Bridges. After the resignation of Vice-President Warren Keaton, Mackenzie Allen asked Gardner what he thought about himself as Vice President. After thinking about it he told President Allen, "I would be honored to be considered for the Vice Presidency."
