has glosseng: Haytor or Hay Tor is a granite tor on Dartmoor in the English county of Devon. It is at grid reference . It is near the village of Haytor Vale in the parish of Ilsington. Until the late 18th century Haytor was known as Itterdown, and was part of the hundred of Heytor which covered the coastal area between the River Teign and River Dart. and "a detached member from four to six miles further to the north-west, comprising the parishes of Widecombe and Buckland, in the mountainous and rugged district of Dartmoor, near the Haytor Rock granite quarries" (Whites Directory of Devon, 1850)
