has glosseng: For the former American football player, see Harold Bishop, Jr. Harold Bishop is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, a long running serial about the residents of the fictional Ramsay Street. The character is no longer part of current storylines. He was played by Ian Smith from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2009. Harold was created by Neighbours creator Reg Watson. He made his debut in the soaps 415th episode on 30 January 1987 and departed in September 1991. Harold returned in October 1996 and remained on screen for over twelve years, making him the second longest-running character in the shows history, surpassed only by Lou Carpenter.
