Le Texas appartient à plusieurs ensembles régionaux : à la Sun Belt, mais aussi au Sud des États-Unis. La capitale est Austin, mais les deux principales agglomérations sont Dallas et Houston. Territoire contrasté et riche, le Texas présente des régions peu peuplées dans lesquelles la nature et les activités agricoles dominent, mais aussi des métropoles d’envergure internationale. Le Texas est le deuxième état le plus peuplé des États-Unis après la Californie. La répartition de la population est inégale et les densités sont élevées à l'est. |
