has glosseng: The adverse effects of fluoroquinolones are the negative and sometimes serious effects which may occur as a result of fluoroquinolone use. The fluoroquinolones are synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotics. The common side effects are generally mild to moderate and self limiting. Occasionally serious adverse effects occur. Some of the serious ADRs which occur more commonly with fluoroquinolones than with other antibiotic drug classes include central nervous system (CNS) toxicity, phototoxicity, cardiotoxicity, arthropathy and tendon toxicity. Children and the elderly are at greater risk. Events that may occur in acute overdose are rare and include renal failure and seizure.
