It was previously the "Victorian Film Corporation", and was sometimes referred to colloquially as the "Victorian Film Commission". As of 2001 it was regulated by the Victorian "Film Act (2001)". In the 2007/2008 fiscal year, it was allocated $ 19.22 million Australian dollars in government funding.
