has glosseng: "Fairytale" is a 1974 single released by the Pointer Sisters. Written by sisters Anita and Bonnie and produced by David Rubinson, it became a landmark recording for the group when they released it off their That's a Plenty album. The song peaked at number thirteen on the pop singles chart and also hit the top forty of the country singles chart. The success of the song helped the Pointers become the first black vocal group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. The song was nominated for two Grammy Awards, including a nod for Country Song of the Year and Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. When the Pointers won the latter award, they became the first all-female vocal group to win a Grammy.
