has gloss | eng: Deck tennis is an informal sport that once was frequently played aboard scheduled passenger ships and is still practiced to a small extent. The sport is a hybrid between tennis and quoits, and is played with either the rubber disk of quoits or a similarly-sized rope ring. Rules vary somewhat from place to place, as the sport has no overall governing body and tends to vary widely with the space available to be allocated to it, but it is usually played on a court roughly 40 to 50 feet (11 to 14 m) long and 15 to 20 feet (5 to 7 m) wide and may be played as either as singles or doubles. The midcourt net is usually set higher than that for tennis but lower than that for volleyball. |
