has gloss | eng: Corkscrew is the name of an Arrow Dynamics roller coaster formerly located at Knotts Berry Farm and currently located at Silverwood. Developed by Ron Toomer of Arrow Dynamics, a Utah based design firm, the "Corkscrew" was the first steel inverted rollercoaster open to the public. Two identical clones of "Corkscrew" were built. The first, the Canobie Corkscrew, was built the same year as the original for the Old Chicago indoor amusement park, and is currently located at Canobie Lake Park, Salem, New Hampshire. The second copy, the Python, was built in 1976 for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida. The Python closed in 2006, leaving the original "Corkscrew" and the copy in New Hampshire as the only remaining examples of Americas first steel inverted rollercoaster. |
