has gloss | eng: The Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the United Kingdoms seventy-nine NHS Foundation Trusts. It provides healthcare for people in the Cambridge area, in southeast England. The Trust – known as CUH – runs Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital. Addenbrookes Hospital on the southern outskirts of the city, which has an income of £518 million, has around 1,180 beds and employs over 7,000 staff. The Rosie Hospital, adjacent to Addenbrookes, is the 120-bed maternity and womens hospital with its own theatre suite, fetal assessment unit, ultrasound department and neonatal intensive care unit. It is the regional centre of excellence for maternity care with around 5,000 babies born there each year. Besides being a major healthcare provider, the Hospital is also a site for world-class medical research, with the Medical Research Council and the Wellcome Trust, and provides clinical education for medical students from the nearby University of Cambridge. |
