has gloss | eng: Binnya Dala (; d. 1774) was the last king of Second Kingdom of Hanthawaddy from 1747 to 1757. The Mon Kingdom had been revived in 1740 by Smim Htaw Buddhaketi, and Binnya Dala was the prime minister. Upon becoming king, Binnya Dala waged war in Upper Burma, extending his kingdom to include Upper Burma's capital of Ava in April 1752. Binnya Dala executed the last king of the Toungoo dynasty in 1754, but was himself captured in May 1757 by Alaungpaya, King of Burma and founder of the Konbaung dynasty. After Alaungpaya died in 1760, his son, Hsinbyushin continued to imprison the last Mon King. Binnya Dala was executed in 1774. |
