The musical introduced such songs as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Es war das erste von fünf Broadway-Musicals (Red, Hot and Blue, Du Barry Was a Lady, Panama Hattie, Something for the Boys) für das Cole Porter komponierte und in dem Ethel Merman die Hauptrolle spielte. In weiteren Hauptrollen waren William Gaxton und Victor Moore zu sehen.
